Hedgehogs - the owl of 2010? I think so. I made this little box with Sassafras Hog Heaven paper and some felt. I love my little hedgie, with his googly eye and button nose. I really loved it when he wasn't wearing hair, because he was cracking me up. He was a little sweet potato with legs! Mr. Hedgehog bin is actually an old project from last year. I have so many projects in the works right now, things should be getting a little kri-zazy around here shortly. Let's just say, I'm excited!
It's giveaway time now! Remember:
1. Comment on THIS blog entry. I just said hedgehogs are the new owl . . . what trend are you digging on for 2010? Tell me what you like right now. I'm so curious.
2. Only one entry per person.
3. Contest will close every Wednesday at midnight (EST).
4. PLEASE leave your e-mail address if it's not attached in Blogger - I need some way to reach you.

Hedgehogs are very trendy and super cute! I love all cute animals, hedgehogs, fawns, owls, cats and and and are always trendy for me.
ReplyDeleteThis box is tooo cute!
Hi! That bin is adorable! I still love owls, can't seem to pass them by. But I'm really loving jewelry created with scrapbooking supplies this year. So many new products out there to create my own custom wearable art. Love that! And so does my daughter!
ReplyDeleteI'm into birds and eggs as of now. Subject to change quickly. marilynnicky@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteSo very cute. I am still in love with roosters and will keep collecting them in all forms!
ReplyDeleteNancy
while I haven't tried decoupage for some time (since early childhood...and I'm 62), I've got a breadbox that I'm thinking about decoupaging...not sure with what, yet...something kitcheny, I'm sure. I love your "project" ideas. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteRita-
I love the hedgehogs. But I thought Birds were the new in. Maybe of the 2000, they are everywhere. I would love to win the mod podge. I have never used it but I do have some dreams.....
ReplyDeleteI still like baby giraffes and other baby zoo animals. They were probably out a long time ago, but I like them!
ReplyDeleteThat is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI'm really loving using sewing patterns as a background for my current crafty things. They Mod Podge up all wrinkly and fun and oh so easy to paint! lol :D
I still love the deer and mushroom prints. Although personally I am a huge fan of butterflies. I have Mod-Podge but not all the different varieties! I would love to win!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm behind on this, but I'm loving felt. It's so vibrant! rebolsen at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI'm always at least one trend behind, so I'm not done with owls yet!
ReplyDeleteI think any woodland creature is "in" right now. The hedgehog, deer, fox, etc.
ReplyDeletemelissa_raie@juno.com
I'm really into crocheting now and of course, Mod Podge.
ReplyDeleteI'm really into anything turqoise, aqua, peacock, etc. Any variation of those colours are my FAVOURITE!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
this isn't a crafty trend at all.....but leggings I love that leggings are back it's the 80's in me.
ReplyDeleteOK, I usually don't enter things, but this pone I will. I can always use modge podge!
ReplyDeleteWhat trend am I hoping for? I'm hoping that it is trendy to be pleasantly plump...;). I've been waiting for that one to come around for years. As for a crafting trend? I love daisies. Daisies, daisies!
and my email address is thelissa@comcast.net.
ReplyDeleteSorry, that goes to the comment I just sent...
fun!
ReplyDeleteWell, it isn't new but I am still in love with trees, tree bark ... whatever. Can NOT get enough!
ReplyDeleteOooh that hedgehog is super cute! It's not very "trendy" but right now I'm diggin on star fish! (but that's just b/c I'm doing a little redecorating)
ReplyDeleteI hope the hedge hog is the new owl because my 4 year old daughter loves them! Love this little guy, I can't wait to try it.

ReplyDeleteI couldn't tell you what 2010 trends I'm into right now as I don't know what is going on outside my house. I don't get out much :)
ReplyDeletenotsocraftycrafts at yahoo dot com
I'm first? Does the first post ever win? I'm not on to any trend yet, still working on getting my studio done so I can find a trend to work on.
ReplyDeleteWell I still love owls, although your hedgehog is cute. I am into mail art and recycled mail right now. I am also into anything spring as I am so tired of winter.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win your mod podge, never have enough...
I think the little hedgehogs are adorable but I am looking to adapt them into badgers because that's the mascot for my daughter's university. As for trends I like, I still love all the butterflies I am seeing out there - I adore butterflies but also because that's what my grand-niece's bedroom is decorated in. Even more than the butterflies for myself though, I love all the dragonflies I am seeing.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying all the "Keep Calm and Carry On" stuff.
ReplyDeleteTrend of not, I'm loving the hedgehogs. Could be I'm partial because we have two real live adorable hedgies (compliments of our son), Templeton & Moxie. Love the box! -Tammy
ReplyDeleteSadly, I don't have a clue what the trends are. However, I can tell you that I just never "got" the whole owl thing and hedgehogs are much cuter! :)
ReplyDeleteI just found your site I love it! So many great ideas the hedgehog is so cute and I can not wait to mod poge my broom at school! tobie711@aol.com
ReplyDeleteHedgies are so cute. I wish manatees would be in style b/c I have always loved them.
ReplyDeleteHa, I'm so loving owls right now... and also fawns! So cute!
ReplyDeleteI am all about deer and frogs!
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I've entered your contest, although I've been a silent reader for a while. I'm entering because I have a nursery to decorate now! :D
I"m still loving the owls-thinking about making a quilt with them!
ReplyDeletekelli.staggs@gmail.com
Too cute!! The woodland animlas are so cute.
ReplyDeleteFor trends I am loving all the vintage looks.
I always have a soft spot for elephants but this year I'm kind of fascinated by peacocks... Trends or not, it doesn't really matter to me!
ReplyDeleteizzy(dot)handmade(dot)creations(at)gmail(dot)com
I am loving burlap! I am seeing burlap everywhere!! Can't wait to get my hands on some and C R E A T E!! :)
ReplyDeleteAs a former hedgehog owner (MS P....she lived to be a lovely old lady) I cant help but love this trend. Hedgehogs are the sweetest, such loves!
ReplyDeleteThat's adorable. I'm just starting to decoupage and so I cannot really comment on trends. Gotta say....I like the broom idea but never thought of a hedgehog...saw my first one live yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the blog, I've subscribed.
I'm pretty trend-clueless, lol. I actually JUST picked up on the owl one, so I'll be contendently out of crafty fashion until I get sick of owls :)
ReplyDeletebmcelroy@tampabay.rr.com
Never got into owls myself. Now, sewing on greeting cards has me going and I even bought a little sewing machine just for that!!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that more bees will catch on. Bee fabric, bee paper, etc. That would be a cute trend!
ReplyDeletei am loving all things birie right now..maybe it's a longing for Spring??? i also seem to be drawn to bumblebees, crickets, and lady bugs...cute ones of course!
ReplyDeletethanks for the chance to win!
xo
I'm very much into anything celestial. Stars, moons, suns. Whether a trend or not they have always been my favorites.
ReplyDeletedjeanq(at)gmail(dot)com
i forgot to mention, i added a link to your giveaway on my blog's sidebar. ♥ your blog..thanks again!
ReplyDeleteTurquoise...I love turquoise!
ReplyDeleteThat project is super cute - and I think Hedgies are way better than owls any day - then again I've had them as pets for years. They are so super cute I want them on everything!
ReplyDeleteI am very much into recycled crafting - mostly creating with buttons, jewelry, neckties and old wool sweaters that have been felted.
ReplyDeleteLovin' hedge hogs, owls, frogs and snails!!
ReplyDeleteBirdies, nests and trees are a classic for me as well and of course...rainbows!
: )
I am loving hedgehogs right now!!! My Mom got me really into them :o)
ReplyDeleteI still love the owls. I think turtles are awful cute too.
ReplyDeleteTurquoise has been my favorite color since I was coloring with it in my crayon box.... I'm thrilled its popular right now, but will be sad when it falls to the wayside like poor purple.... And I will just be out of fashion, I spose!
ReplyDeleteI like all the sparkle and glitz
ReplyDeleteI am loving those little chubby birdies! Oh, and glitter. Always glitter!
ReplyDeleteI'd be hard pressed to admit to a favourite trend - I love them all!! Owls have been fun tho, and I guess I'm not over them yet, but I'll definitely embrace the hedgehog trend ... we had one that visited for a while (Harley), and he was so cute!
ReplyDeleteLynette
maclyn@orcon.net.nz
Too Cute! I think birds and definitely birdcages are the "new owl". The hedgehog is so cute though. I love that paper line!
ReplyDeleteMy email addy is bjc_05@yahoo.com
I am crazy about FELT right now... anything made of felt ad I think it rocks.
ReplyDeleteCute hedgehog!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm digging thrift store shopping. Seriously - best.finds.ever!
rachel_musgrove@hotmail.com
I LOVE hedgehogs. I'm in a card club where we create different cards each month and I can stop using hedgehog paper. Hopefully others love them as much as I do! Such a cute project!! Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeletekrisandchelsey@gmail.com
I love the cube - so cute! I think anything involving turquoise will be great for Spring
ReplyDeleteI only started being crafty towards the end of 2009. So burlap and owls are still new to me! I'm gonna keep that trend going in my home for now.
ReplyDeleteHm...can I go outside of the woodland creature vibe and pick flamingos? Love them!
ReplyDelete-emma
I'm not seeing trends for animals so much, but more for colors in yarns. And it would appear that natural colors and natural fibers are the latest trend there...
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with chickens at the moment. If it has a chicken on it I want it.
ReplyDeletethe color Jade is my new obsession. I like it on everything! and i think i should love hedgehogs too, so cute!!! :)
ReplyDeleteashley.gotschall@gmail.com
I love the hedgehog! I have been trying to think of turtle crafts because my son loves turtles and we're thinking of doing a turtle bday party in May.
ReplyDeletebridget dot harper at gmail dot com
I am totally in LOVE with numbers! I have been enjoying letters and words for the past few years, but I am loving that every one is starting to use numbers! You will be seeing that from me for sure! Thanks for sharing the fun stuff in your giveaway!! Be sure and visit my blog on Tuesday, Feb.23rd for my give away!!!
ReplyDeleteI think eiffel towers! If that makes sense - I want them to step in and replace keys and heart-shaped lockets. :|
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the doilies... and the vintage :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I still love everything polk-a-dot and likely always will. ~Kelly
ReplyDeleteunDeniably Domestic
I'm not sure it's a new trend, but I'm still into all things girly - flowers, braids, bows, ruffles, etc. on lots of fun things - pillows, headbands, frames, anything :)
ReplyDeleteM Sunday re-run post today is about Mod Podge!
ReplyDeleteI am MP Dependent.
I've never kept up well with trends, but I like swirls and flourishes myself.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking "Do it yourself" should be the phrase of the 10's. Bring on the ModPodge and other crafty stuff!
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah, and all the colors from the 70's. Not sure how I feel about those...
charlsmith at comcast dot net
I have a lot of catching up to do!!!! I was still on owls!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHedgehogs are pretty cute, but I thought the little birdies movement was the new owl? :D
ReplyDeleteDichotomy! Vintage lace with a safari jacket, eyelet with flannel, patterns with patterns, metal with velvet, etc. And vintage scarves around necks, waists, hats, bags!
ReplyDeleteI think the brown and teal color scheme will be evolving into turquoise, pink, and orange for summer. I know it's a weird prediction but I've been noticing those colors together a lot lately and I wonder if they're coming out for summer. It reminds me of a remodeled 80's color scheme and I think it'd be cute on little girls' summer dresses.
ReplyDeleteyoothesecond at yahoo.com
Super cute! I'm loving victorian, anything with feathers, ruffles, and stripes!
ReplyDeletesunnysummersmile@gmail.com
Love that box! As for trends, I see a lot of sewing stuff, but for me cutesy animals are always on top! :)
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing leafless trees in jewelry and on clothing lately... I think they're beautiful! I especially like tree pendant necklaces like this one.
ReplyDeleteTrend or no trend, I always love pleasant, pretty florals. :)
ReplyDeletebethanyweed@gmail.com
I love all the birds right now, especially bird silouets (sp?).
ReplyDeleteLove that paper, Amy! I can see why you focused on the hedgehog. I am liking the grain sack pillows that I've been seeing recently.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say I'm a very trendy person. I can't seem to nail down what I really like. I seems like crafts and DIY in general are "in" right now, and that's certainly a bandwagon I'm willing to get on.
ReplyDeleteilovepaulduersch at gmail
I must say, I'm just now getting into the owls & birds. We're decorating a nursery right now for our soon-to-be-adopted daughter, with retro Partridge-family-style birds. So that's my "thing", even if I'm late to get on board! Maybe I should catch on to the hedgehog before the trend hits mainstream! :)
ReplyDeletelerra73@gmail.com
I don't really know any new trends, but I love decorating with Red!
ReplyDeleteHedgehogs are cute! I love anything with a bird on it.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Tara
SO CUTE AMY! I think you're right about the hedgehog. Although, I think any felty animal is trendy right now...but I do see more woodland creatures then any other. =)
ReplyDeleteI've never been able to keep up with trends. I stay so behind, but I know what I like. I am in to the color purple lately, lavender, plum, eggplant. All shades of purple. It is my go to color right now.
ReplyDeletetheabadiefamily at gmail dot com
I don't really get the animal thing. Some are really cute, and I like them on a few things, but I guess I'm out of style since I don't like them on tons of things. I've been into black and white with different textures, patterns, etc. for a over a year. And I always have loved flowers!! And sparkly things.
ReplyDeletemyjennamarie at yahoo dot com
I am into anything involving little boys as I have 2 (and one is brand new). :)
ReplyDeleteMy 16 month old has this to say:
0\7'jghhhhhhh ifffff
he was sitting on my lap and really wanted to type. :)
If hedgehogs are in, then the little mushrooms must come too. I love those little things. I think PEACE, LOVE and anything will stay in for awhile.
ReplyDeleteI've always loved hedgehogs and this one couldn't be cuter!
ReplyDeleteI'm liking, in 2010, that sports themes are NOT the rage!
ReplyDeleteI'm still in to the bird thing, any bird, owl, sparrow, chicken. thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love cute animals, so they're a close runner up, but my fascination for 2010, as it was for most of 2009, is Steampunk.
ReplyDeleteThats a sweet little hedgehog.
ReplyDeleteLike decorating the bin idea. I'm teaching some friends to decoupage at our Art Club on Tuesday. I think I'll take a pic of little hedgie for the animal lovers to give them ideas.
Kathy
ruffles!!! I LOVE that they are on everything lately!
ReplyDeleteI'm suddenly into simple bird silhouettes and have been painting and mod podging them. I'm eventually going to sew some as well.
ReplyDeletebic_nik@yahoo.com
Very cute project! I'm a little behind, so I'm still into owls and silhouettes.
ReplyDeleteI love retro flowers! But your box is adorable too! :-)
ReplyDeleteI wish I was trendy enough to jump on a trend-wagon. I have no idea what the new trends will be this year! I adore owls, hedgehogs, birds, deer...all are adorable when done nicely. I super-love anything done in a silhouette. Is that trendy?? watertowers 11 at hotmail dot com
ReplyDeleteAm I out of it that I didn't know owls were in? I guess I"m more of a simple decorator & don't usually do anything with animals...just Spiderman :) I'm decorating my son's room in brown & lime green so I'll say I hope that's what's in next!
ReplyDeleteThe hedgehog is soo cute, I once made one out of polymer clay into a keychaing and it sold right away.
ReplyDeleteI'm really liking the bird themed things I am seeing all over, guess twitter is the inspiration for it. Rcycling and upcycling is a trend I love and hope it grows.
Trends? What are trends? I'm so glad that reuse-reduce-recycle is trendy, and not old-fashioned dorky!
ReplyDeletei have been so into trees, birds, branches etc for years! i don't think i'll ever give them up. also, anything vintage or pretend vintage. and scarves with necklaces layered on top, also mod podge, duh!!!!! : )
ReplyDeleteI love flowers but the hedgehogs are adorable too! I have used one kind of modge podge before, but didn't know it came in such an array of different kinds!
ReplyDeletekenzieathrone [at] gmail [dot] com
My favorite new trend is antique bird cages on paper!!! evelez@panynj.gov
ReplyDeleteHedgehogs - how cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my little blog. I'll be back to your's. You do some really cool things.
i don't know if it's a trend but i love the use of the color teal and seeing little birds every where i look

ReplyDeletejrerwin6 at gmail dot com
I still love birds. I am hoping it sticks around for a while.
ReplyDeleteI still love owls, and have started getting into repurposing clothing for my girls!
ReplyDeletecharisse_medico@yahoo.com
Ooooh, I'm in love with soothing, asian themes for 2010. Oh, and projects created from wine corks, only because I have a TON of them just waiting for some inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteI'm really liking all of the woodland creature designs I've seen this year!
ReplyDeletelucky_march_girl@yahoo.com
Your hedgehog is precious!
ReplyDeleteLets see I am really into listening to indie music! Im also obsessed with buying white dresses and tie dying them..I also love sunflowers and dreamcatchers..Okay I know that was more than one, but Im into alot..
ReplyDeletepaisley i think...and knit...i'm doing a mod podge growth chart for the wall to measure the kids...check back to my blog in about two weeks to see...sooo excited! i'll have to surf your blog for ideas for it...
ReplyDeletedionctrs (at) gmail.com
They are so cute - I remember my german sister-in-law used hedgehogs on her wedding announcement 25 years ago.
ReplyDeleteThe Hedgehog is ADORABLE!!
ReplyDeleteI'm really digging empty photo frames lately!
Turquoise seems to be coming back and I really like it! I also still love owls and deer, felt and big paper flowers! And you should be able to contact me through blogger in case I'm the lucky winner!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if this is a trend or I'm just liking it but using font more as art.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that birds are the fashion now. I love the hedgehog though. He's so cute!
ReplyDeleteI am so over the owls, so bring on the hedgehogs!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI am really digging the fun papers and embellies that are out that are like sewing, dress making etc from like, the 50's, kwim?? Loving it all!
I'm still not over the owl. Not even the bird! But thankfully, I am over the scottie dog circa 1990. Whew!
ReplyDeleteHI!! LOVE THE LITTLE HEDGEHOGS AND HAVE NOTICED THEM ON THINGS FOR YEARS NOW! BUT THEY NEVER LOSE THEIR CHARM. OWLS ARE BEAUTIFUL AND SO COLLECTIBLE NOW, BUT MY FAV IS ALWAYS FROGS . . .NOT SILLY FROGS - HANDSOME ONES LIKE IN MAJOLICA.
ReplyDeleteOH - WHAT THE HECK - I REALLY LIKE ALL ANIMALS AND THE BEAUTY THEY HAVE!
Bird houses!
ReplyDeletechinlai@bellsouth.net
Your hedgehog is adorable! I have no idea what the trends are for 2010 but I still like owls and hedgehogs. I wish donkeys would take over though. And wombats.
ReplyDeleteI'm new to being crafty, in fact I've yet to really do a crafty thing. That's why I'm hoping for mod podge! However, I love to look at other peoples handy work. I'm loving the trends of crocheting, asian themes and burlap... and of course mod podge :-)
ReplyDeletesweetest_kitten@hotmail dot com
i loVe birdcages right now. carlyoler@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteYour hedgehog is, indeed adorable, but I'm a big fan of birds myself. I can't get enough of them! Images, figurines...heck, I even feed the wild ones!
ReplyDeleteBonnie
Actually, I'm digging hedgehogs! In fact, I have plans to make some using microfiber car wash mitts.
ReplyDelete(Should I win, you should be able to contact me at my LJ. Leave a comment on any entry.)
I've never like owls for decoration. I do like penguins - always have as well as giraffes but a little less as a decor object.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally into sakura flowers and branches right now, sakuramania for me in my way!
ReplyDeleteBut I also like cute animals from children's illustrations and I'm always into flowery-swirly-brocade type things...
My moto would be: don't like to follow trends, they should keep up with me ;)
m a r i j a . 8 6 . p u p i c (a t) g m a i l . c o m
My daughter loves owls AND hedgehogs, so I am always on the lookout for both. Lately my personal trend has been images from vintage sewing patterns. tsatskeh@aol.com
ReplyDeleteSo cute. The trend I am loving right now is turquiose. It looks so fresh and bright after a long winter. Thanks for introducing me to the wonders of Modge Podge. I just bought my first jar. I didn't realize there were so many types!
ReplyDeleteThat hedgehog is so cute! I am loving all the plaid stuff...but I'm not quite brave enough to wear any of it:)
ReplyDeleteI'm probably a couple of years behind but I'm really loving little birds right now. :)
ReplyDeleteabundantlyblessed17(at)yahoo(dot)com
Ah, hedge hogs are so cute. I also like platypus... you don't see them in many places, but I think they are so cute!
ReplyDeletei am into paisley pattern..either in designer paper for card making or fabric paisley curtain or wrapping paper..
ReplyDeleteI say bring back the Garden Gnome! Whatever happened to that dude?
ReplyDeleteMy new obsession for 2010 is refashions. I know it's not really a new thing but it's new to me and I'm finally getting the courage to sit at the sewing machine!
ReplyDeleteHi, I've just bought my very first jar of Mod Podge and am excited to start some project. I love owls still, but I think I may do something with mice soon.
ReplyDeleteLoving paisley! Along with brown and turquoise! I'm hoping to be lucky this time! kendra{dot}fisch{at}gmail{dot}com
ReplyDeleteI think polka dots will be trendy.
ReplyDeletesweetiesuzy@aol.com
I'm still stuck on butterflies although frogs also seem to be making themselves known in my projects lately. I really need to move forward-I'm loving the hedgehogs. I actually had one for a while when we were in Germany.
ReplyDeleteI can tell you that I don't love the owls, or the birds but I DO love that hedgehog!!! Do you have a template????
ReplyDeletemaryw1981 at yahoo dot com
Trends, what trends? I'm just trying to find time to craft that project I started last year!
ReplyDeleteI am just starting to Mod Podge and would love a starter set.
ReplyDeleteVery cute little hedgehog. I love the way he matches the balls on the bottom of the box. Very cute and happy piece.
ReplyDeleteI guess I am so last year! I prefer the owls. The hedge hog is cute too, though. :-)
ReplyDeleteYour little hedgehog box is cute. I think I will be doing more with Shrinkys this year and I would like to get into using Mod Podge more. I haven't done a lot with that and there are SO many ideas for using it. Thanks for the chance to win some.
ReplyDeleteSwedie
My personal favorite is the moose. Probably not trendy, but I loves me some moose. I have actually raised mini hedgehogs, and they snuffle delightfully at your fingers. The babies are the most adorable things I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteschnuckiputzi@comcast.net
So many fun ideas out there, I dont think I can choose just one! I do love the hedgehog.
ReplyDeleteLoved reading all the comments, too. I've got new identical twin grandson babies so I'm into cute baby boy "stuff" for scrapbooking, bookplates for their library, and computer/digital alphas to make their names for all kinds of things. Need lots of mod podge cuz I love to use it on all kinds of things.
ReplyDeleteThough it isn't a trend, I've always loved koala bears. So fuzzy and cute, though I hear they aren't too friendly. Also, I'm really interested in emulating "designer" or expensive items on my own for a much more friendly price.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win this pack - I'm a college student just getting peeking into the DIY world and the possibilities seem endless.
I'm really getting into the Japanese fabrics by Kokka. Very cute and interesting.
ReplyDeleteJust about ANYTHING TEAL/AQUA/TURQUOISE...I'm obsessed!! LOL And, MOD PODGE DOES ROCK!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your blog, would love to win this set :)
TheMommyPrincess@yahoo.com
I'm starting to really get into the Japanese fabrics by Kokka. Very cute and interesting.
ReplyDeleteflowerpower0097@live.com
Believe or not . . .actually mod podging. I want to create some fun things.
ReplyDeleteRight now I am hooked on using my brayer to lay down colored backgrounds.
ReplyDeleteI know they've been around, but I'm really into foxes right now. I'd like to see them on more things.
ReplyDeleteWell, I really love the fascination with all things related to mustaches lately from t-shirts to winter face masks with staches, to the tree vinyl wall decal with mustache leaves on Urbanoutfitters.com. However, I do think that a full beard is a better looks for everyone! So, I've been sewing lace beards and just cut the fabric to permanently decoupage a beard onto my hallway mirror so that all of my visitors can see what they look like as a mountain man!
ReplyDeleteKatie Roche rochekat@gmail.com
Are owls old trend already? I think I'm a little late; anyway I think birds are coming strong this year, am I right?
ReplyDeleteI'm into the burlap everything!
ReplyDeleteAww hedgehogs are simply adorable but I have yet to craft with them! I do love elegant birds like a partridge...a little elegance is always a plus when decoupaging!
ReplyDeleteOMG this is so cute. What trend am I into? Well I'm behind the trend line but I'm lovin' the flower clips made out of ribbon, zippers, whatever else I see around
ReplyDeletekimberlyrwilson@live.com
Super-cute ... I've been having fun with cuckoo clocks.
ReplyDeleteno idea what the trends are, but hedgehogs are my favorite so Im always up for using them on things.. and Penguins are one of my sons favorites, and my 2nd favorite, so we have a lot of those around here too :)
ReplyDeleteGinger
ginrob@mail(dot)com
I LOVE owls and I have loved them since 2000 so for me I am going to say Owls! haha Love your blog
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the silhouette trend.
ReplyDeleteI love the wall decals right now. I have put paw prints in one bedroom and I got a scatter kindness for the foyer.
ReplyDeleteGolly, 172 comments (I think I saw them all), and only one other person mentioned what I think will be on the radar in the near future....Gnomes!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway opportunity.
tisha@artwithmrssmith.com
I'd love to see people creating cute little ferrets! Those animals do nothing but put a smile on your face on a gloomy day!
ReplyDeleteI love the hedgehog, but owls are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the hedgehogs. Exrtemely cute! My girls are really into hippos too for some reason. email is tycejones@live.com
ReplyDeleteI'm currently eyeball deep in my latest discovery: Bento! I think that's up and coming. As far as trendy designs though, if robots haven't reached trend status yet, they're getting super close!
ReplyDeletestacey at ellebellebaby dot com
I'm getting into the turquoise thing--not large-scale, but something like a lamp could be a great decor addition
ReplyDeleteI'm digging the felt animals with googly eyes!
ReplyDeleteThat trend might have started in 2009 but I didn't discover it until a couple weeks ago and I'm all over it! :)
http://marybt.wordpress.com
Well, would it be wrong of me to say I'm just not a very trendy person. I try to have things that are pretty timeless. If I do buy something trendy, it's usually clothes for my kids that are trendy because when the trend is over, they've outgrown the clothes. I have jumped on the Mod Podge trendy wagon though. Hope I win!
ReplyDeleteI'm working on not buying any more craft supplies, this is the year for me to reuse or redesign so I'm focusing on using found items or re-purposing what supplies I already have. After seeing the hedgehog I'm really wishing I had some felt though, think I could make a cute lion!
ReplyDeleteMy love of bird imagery is proving to be pretty trend-resistant, but I've been noticing matroyshka dolls popping up in a lot designs and I'm really absolutely loving them!

I'm very happy hedgies are becoming so popular. I actually have a pet hedgehog named Samuel (after Samuel L. Jackson!) So I'm loving some hedgies..
ReplyDeleteI'm also really likes cats and roosters.. and mod podge! My friend introduced me to mod a little while ago, and now everything I seen, I wonder what I can turn it into with a little mod podge and some scrapbook paper!

Cute Hedgehog! I'm loving reusing old materials and making them new again. Not much of a new trend but I'm still loving it. Upcycle is my new favorite word!
ReplyDeletemy mom collected owls when I was a kid, they were ALL over the house! my collections include watermelon, dragons, calla lily... and ANYTHING PURPLE! My kitchen is plastered with watermelons, including a few craft items I have made, over the years.
ReplyDeleteI have included purple in my watermelon crafts, since I am obsessed with purple. I also love purple/green plaid. I'm not sure why... but I do.
I haven't used Mod Podge in years, but would love to start using it again. My daughter & I love doing crafts, and when my niece visits, it can become quite the event!
Thank you for posting such wonderful ideas
Amy! I had to enter because hedgehogs have always been my secret little favorite animal! I have a little collection of them :) Your hedgie box is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving that turquoise is Pantone's official color of 2010! I have always loved turquoise and in the last 2 or 3 years have started adding it to my favorite color combination of red and yellow - and it looks great!
Take care - I have some projects coming up that I'll make sure you know about :)

I adore the hedgehog!!!! My husband uses a hedgehog and his initials to sign hisdrswings and comics. Ciao dall'Italia =^_^=
ReplyDeleteHedgehogs are VERY cute. I am into baby animals right now--this week:)
ReplyDeleteI am still into owls, I can't help it. But I also really still love birds. As far as non-animals, I've been getting into retro-style home scenes (pseudo toile, etc.). But the hedgehog is pretty darn cute, too!
ReplyDeleteI love the i-top tool! Those are cool :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for this!!
